Halloween Portraits

I'll be shooting Halloween portraits in conjunction with Legacy Comics as part of their "Halloween Havoc" Event on Saturday 31st of October in the Piece Hall, Halifax from about 11am to 4pm.
I'll be in either the Temporary Art Space or one of the empty shop units downstairs.
I'll be shooting all of the fancy dress competition entrants (and anyone else who shows up in exchange for a small donation to one of the Cancer charities Legacy Comics support).
Anyone photographed will get a hires (2000px) JPEG after the event.

New Blog

Just to let everyone (everyone? Anyone?) who reads this blog know, I'll be moving most of my new entries over to my new blog here, mainly for simplification (all my other blogs are over there) and functionality (LJ wants me to pay to post by email, plus my iphone client doesnt support LJ).

Harry at the hospital

Harry had a couple of appointments at the hospital today, one with the consultant and one at the eye clinic.
His eyes tested fine, so we don't have to go back for six months.

Well, Harry is still in the neonatal unit, but is in a cot now instead of an incubator, and is feeding from a bottle, at least some of the time. Isobel seem quite taken with him, and has taken it upon herself to look after his toy chick until he is home :)

This is our new baby, Harry George Birdsall, about 3 hours old, at the neonatal unit of Halifax Royal Infirmary.
He was rude enough to arrive 6 or so weeks early, but mother and baby are both fine.

Spent Sunday morning, taking some photos of my friend Simon about Sowerby Bridge. First time really using off-camera flash and Strobist techniques outside. Got a few decent shots out of it.
Next time hopefully I'll have my Elinchrom Skyport set-up, so I won't be limited by line of sight as I was using the canon IR system.
And next time I'll take an extra stand and fewer lenses.

It was my daughter Isobel's 2nd birthday today, and she spent a large proportion of the afternoon dressed as a fairy princess.

Teeth

Well, yesterday I popped into hospital to have a wisdom tooth taken out.
Everything went fine, but not being able to eat or drink after 7:30 am and having the op at 3 ish in the afternoon was a bit of a pain.

Just a quick missive to let you all know that Isobel Freya Birdsall was born at 01:58 on Sunday 13th November.
Both mother and baby are fine and should be home later in the week.

Busy few days

It's been an..... interesting few days.
Friday was my last day at Floors2Go, during which the other bloke working had an epileptic fit, fell off a pallet and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance, leaving me flying solo for a couple of hours.
Then today I had to go to hospital and get my teeth x-rayed, in preparation for having a wisdom tooth removed.
And tomorrow I start my new manager job.

Phew!

And in five weeks time, I'll be a dad.
